      3rd Party Router Setup Help

I have had Sky Fibre installed with the sagem router and it doesnt give me the flexibility i need regarding LAN port quantity and not able to wireless bridge it.
I dont really want to be piggyback another router or ethernet switch to give what i want as my front room already looks like a powerstation lol.
I have seen multiple threads on here about using a 3rd party router which i have tried following but still have no joy with my system, not sure what is going wrong......

I have a Netgear WNR3500 and WNR2000 router which i have in my toolbox to use. My plan is to use the 2000 to replace the sagem sky router and use the 3500 as a wireless bridge, but can swap them round if necessary.
I have already obtained the the username and password and established from the sky router its using MER, well i think so as thats whats it says.

Can someone give me an idiots step by step guide to help me out pls

Re: 3rd Party Router Setup Help

You will need to install the DD-WRT firmware on which ever of the two Netgear routers you wish to use as the main router.

There are a few guides on this forum which should help you to configure the DD-WRT firmware for the Sky connection.

There are others. Hopefully one of the above two should help. If not, search for 'dd-wrt' on this forum.
