      FTTC Exchange activation and Sky

What is the story with FTTC going live on a cabinet/exchange and actually being able to order with Sky?

I'm just about to move into a new place, the FTTC cab is in place but the exchange RFS isn't until the end of the year. My concern is ordering Sky broadband now, getting locked into a contract, Sky Fibre not being able to be ordered straight away (or ever?) but being unable to go with another ISP because my line is locked in with Sky.

I don't know if Sky provide the Fibre services LLU and it requires additional configuration/equipment or if they are providing it like every other FTTC ISP?

Re: FTTC Exchange activation and Sky

Some members were able to successfully switch from Sky Broadband Unlimited within the first 12 months to Sky Fibre. Their contract was restarted from when the Sky fibre was connected, but otherwise there were no issues.

As for when Fibre will actually go live and when you will be able to order Sky Fibre, these can be very different dates.

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms
