      Re: new connection help

The sites you're downloading from might not have enough bandwidth to supply you with full speed and the speed of torrents relies on the speed of it's seeders. First thing to do though is check the speed you're syncing at, if that looks ok then try downloading the 1000MB speedtest file from mirror.nl.leaseweb.net | powered by LeaseWeb - if you're getting full speed you should get around 4.4 - 4.6MB/sec from there. Also you could try a well seeded torrent too, linux distro's are usually well seeded and can max out my line although the thing with torrents is they can take a while to get upto speed and the download usually completes before you max it.

Oh, almost forgot, try using a wired connection and not wireless if you aren't already.

The sync speed is best gotten direct from the OpenReach modem with modified firmware or you can get it from Maintenance>Router Status from the Sky Router.(http://192.168.0.1 or maybe http://192.168.1.1, I struggle to remember the default because my network is setup differently oh and it's admin and sky for the username and password)

Sounds like a definite problem somewhere though, maybe you're suffering from the half speed issue : http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/sky-b...1-2-speed.html

      Re: new connection help

Maybe try using a different web browser just to rule that possibility out.
