      Cancelling Fibre

Won't bore everyone with the details but following a messup with Sky's online order system, I spent a couple of days going around Sky's Live Chat and "Help" forum trying to cancel Sky talk and Fibre broadband before losing patience and finding a number for cancellations. Wanted to cancel whole order under Consumer Protection (Distant Selling) Regulations 2000 and then re-order TV package. Wished I had contacted cancellations first as it would have saved a lot of time.

I agreed to keep TV package (Multiroom with Sky World (500Gb & 1Tb boxes) but cancel Sky Talk and Fibre Broadband. Sky Agent told me (I have checked online and he has) that he would cancel Sky Talk. He said that this would automatically cancel the Fibre Broadband - its shows as "problem with order". Can anyone confirm that this is the way it works? I've probably spent too long over the past couple of days trying to get information out of Sky Agents (blood out of stones).

      Thanks

      Re: Cancelling Fibre

If it is showing on the 'My Sky' page that everything is correctly cancelled that should be, then there should be no issue.

Cancellations are there to handle anything like that and will have done the job correctly. Each component (TV, Broadband & phone) is a separate contract so it is perfectly alright just to have the TV package.

      Re: Cancelling Fibre

Many thanks Scubbie. Broadband not yet showing as cancelled - just "problem with order", although that may change. Probably just scarred by my experiences with Sky Agents over the last couple of days and at the moment I'm not very trusting!

      I'll check again tomorrow.

      Re: Cancelling Fibre

Check "My Sky" this morning again - Sky Talk Line Rental showing as "Your service has been disconnected"; Sky Talk Anytime showing as "Your service has been disconnected"; Sky Fibre Unlimited still showing as "...problem with order...". Rang Customer Services this morning (08442410515) and spoke to Keiran. Apparently cancelling Sky Talk Line Rental would normally cancel Broadband automatically but NOT if it is Sky Fibre. He processed the cancellation this morning and "My Sky" now shows Sky Fibre Unlimited as "Your service has been disconnected."
