I am just composing a post to kick off a new thread so that people can compare the different HomePlugs with a little more accuracy. Give me a little while as I am thinking about all the different factors involved and the different issues already reported.

      What he said!

I've been using devolo 200 kit for a long time now.

They provide adequate service on Sky Fibre 40/10 (but I haven't measured precise throughput mainly because we don't have any local issues with them).

Obviously if I was buying new today, I'd go for devolo 500 for future-proofing (in so far as anything is future proof!).

Having said that, we have recently been using wireless a little more than we used to - this is because the wireless N coverage provided by "our current router" is much better than the wireless G coverage of the old Netgear/Sky V1 White ADSL router.

I have always found devolo kit to be a bit expensive but very reliable.

I use a set of TP-Link 250mbps homeplugs with my Sky Fibre connection, have done since Day 1 with absolutely no problems whatsoever. I get 38mbps download and 8 meg upload, Best 35 I've spent in a while actually.

Are you currently using Homeplugs with your fibre Service any noticeable issues with them? Speed etc?
I'd always used my 200Mb/s Solwise plugs with ADSL2 before. Since getting Fibre Pro I've hard wired my main PC into the router by laying an ethernet cable under the skirting board. This was because I could get 75Mb/s down when cabled but only 55ish when using the plugs. I use the Homeplugs for my NAS box and TV only now.

      Re: Homeplugs + Sky Fibre

we've got tp-link 500Mbps stylers with Gig lan connections and the best we've been able to achieve is a solid 4.3MBs using local ftp. which doesn't cut it with fibre pro and is only just fast enough for standard fibre. Having said that two XBMC's can quite happily stream 1080p from the NAS or directly from usenet (ish) across the homeplug part of the network.

of course the homes internal wiring has a lot to do with integrity of the network. We've had to run a pretty long lan cable from the switch to the socket that gives the best connection downstairs

      Re: Homeplugs + Sky Fibre

Well it must be down to electrical wiring I guess, I have Devolo 500Mbps AV Plus and some TP-link ones that slow my fibre down by half even when plugged in the same room, worse when upstairs/downstairs split. Ethernet in back of router and i get my 38.5 down no problem.
