Report child sexual abuse content to the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF)

You may be able to confirm if Sky is blocking it by performing a 'tracert'. It could be that a link is down.
The IWF block list isn't publicly available, also providers are not allowed to disclose the contents of the list.

Not really surprising given the types of sites the IWF claim to be acting against.

Whilst I support the actions of the IF, it has been known for them to block some sites incorrectly.

Other members have posted links which confirmed that a site was blocked by them in the past. I was hoping that someone would do so on this occasion too.

If you use OpenDNS, it skips past these blocks. I personally use OpenDNS, as I find it more reliable than Sky's DNS.

      Re: Sky Blocking Netload???

The problem has been that instead of just blocking the disgusting content, some UK ISPs have blocked the whole server. A few years ago they blocked one server which serviced CNN, other media giants and several high profile bloggers. It was quite a few days before the ban was lifted and UK users could access the sites.

Sky's customer help is no more aware of what sites are blocked than we are. I don't know how many have called Sky in the past and been told a site wasn't blocked when it obviously was. This can easily be proved by using a non-UK proxy IP. In almost all cases if it is open then it blocked. ISPs should be forced to put up a page saying a site is blocked and why, noy just put up a meaningless error page,

      Re: Sky Blocking Netload???

This thread pretty much matches what i'd posted over in the ADSL help forums here

Seems to be an issue affecting SKY and BT users and some TalkTalk aswell.

Can access the site, but when try to start a download it returns an error "access denied"

Tried changing to openDNS as someone mentioned above and that didn't work.
Using TOR browser does work though, but is slow has hell.

Got a reply from Netload today stating that my ISP must be blocking the downloads.
Don't understand quite whats going on though as access to the site is ok, its just the actual download that is blocked.
