Fibre Pro Throttleing on First Day?

      Hey,

We've just had our Fibre Pro installed and immediately had a constant download speed of 6.5-7.5MB/s from a source that doesn't vary and isn't overloaded.

As a test, I left it running and now I cannot achieve faster than 1.5MB/s no matter how hard I try. I was told Sky do not throttle and the Open Reach engineer informed me that I will achieve maximum speeds immediately after installation, which, for an hour or two I was.

Any idea what is or may be going on?

Its possible there was congestion somewhere in the network path between you and the source.

we've downloaded an obscene amount since getting fibre and it hasn't slowed down at all.

what's the modem sync'd at? have you tried various speed tests? usenet? etc.

Just out of interest, what kind of throughput do you get from here:

      mirror.nl.leaseweb.net | powered by LeaseWeb

Try downloading the 10GB file.. I find a lot of websites are unable to "keep up" or use throttling (the link above should be able to max out your line)

      Sky do not throttle.

However, there has been evidence of congestion in the evenings - I've noticed the same.

Though from usenet or using a download manager, I can max my connection pretty much all day.
