Just ordered Fibre...a few questions though...

Well after a number of years away, i am coming back to Sky Broadband, only this time via the fibre route. I am moving from o2 LLU/BT landline. My cab was enabled yesterday after waiting just over 2 years for it to be enabled!

Do i need to give a MAC code to sky? I have been given one by O2, but i just called sky to confirm my order and they have said i do not need one as i am changing my landline to sky too (from BT).

      Is this correct?

I am getting free activation too and 70 via quidco for my troubles. Install date is 13/8/2012 I will need the data extension kit too as my master socket has no power source available, i assume i do not have to pay for this and the engineer will have no issues with this?

      Thanks!

Any answers for the above question re data extension kit? Do i have to call sky to let them know i will need one? Has anybody had to ask before the engineer came?

sky wont need/use the mac code so you will need to cancel the BB&Phone with o2 or you may still be charged.

Hehe, it was a tongue in cheek comment. No troubles at all . Just got off the phone to sky - they said you do not need the pre-warn them about the data extension kit. Roll on the 13th!

In their original blurb, this was mentioned, so I would suggest that you have done the right thing to cover your rear.

Re: Just ordered Fibre...a few questions though...

I upgraded to fibre pro yesterday evening, just over 24 hours ago. I was told it would be upgraded within 24 hours. Do i have to restart the modem or shall i wait until tomorrow morning? Order tracking still says it is being processed

Re: Just ordered Fibre...a few questions though...

leave it for a while longer. the modem should re-sync once the profile has been changed but the sky router (if you are using it) will need to be rebooted as it will still show the old sync values
