      even faster?

So I was on ADSL2 with sky. had 15MB then went down to 10MB over the year.
I then upgraded to the sky fibre. awesome.
then 2 weeks later I upgraded to sky fibre pro. even more awesome.

      anything faster? LOL

the thing is, there is around maybe 9MB difference between the speed I was getting on the sky fibre and fibre pro.

sky fibre I got 34-35MB and with the pro I am getting around 45MB. Upload is around 10MB constant.

would there be a way of increasing the speed currently?
what about potential future faster products? if I upgrade to that... will I also see an increase in speed?

      Re: even faster?

Your line is clearly not capable of 80/20 so atm you are wasting 10 a month for 5mbit downstream and zero extra upstream
if you had any sense you would downgrade to 40/10 nevermind faster

You do realise the two packages are :

      80/20

      40/10

      80mb download
      20mb upstream

      40mb download
      10mb upstream

Now, what the previous poster was saying.......

You are paying 30 a month for 47mb down and 10mb up

as opposed to 20 a month for 40mb down and 10mb up.

      - - - Updated - - -

so to conclude. Please, no one else feed the troll.

All I see is people whining because they are getting better speed than before.

      Lucky you!

Deal with it - move on.

      Re: even faster?

Im not bitter in the slightest and didnt mean for it to come across that way

web browsing pulls no more than a few mbit as no site will pump 40mbit for webpages
if you where getting 20mbit upstream i could understand getting pro
if you game alot or upload alot
but in your current situation it's a waste for minimal difference

a 40/10 customer with qos disabled pulls around 39mbit downstream and 9.5mbit upstream

not to mention you will have a far cleaner line with lower crc errors
due to having a higher noise margin on your copper vdsl2
so bt's dlm should be kinder to you and place you on fastpath or close to fastpath

      Re: even faster?

well I actually do use the internet heavily. I also work in IT so the faster I can get, the better it is for me. the difference between fibre and fibre pro for me is noticable. Faster download AND upload. The question I have as posted initially was:

      1) can it be improved?
      2) if newer speeds were brought out by sky, if I were to upgrade would I get that speed?

now, if I didnt get fibre pro, then I still would not get near to the top end of what the fibre was quoted. I got fibre pro and getting more than the fibre quoted speed and around just less than half of the quoted fibre pro speed.

upgrading has been benificial (maybe not financially but speedwise, yes)

      The point still stands.

If you were on the SBUF then you would have been 40/2 whereas Sky are now upgrading SBUF to 40/10 for free.

You are basically paying 10 a month more for an extra few meg down, which as others have pointed out is a high premium.
