      Re: even faster?

Why not wait to see who offers FTTP connections and for how much?

BTO should launch a 330mb d/l & 30mb upload product next year. I would hope that Sky will be looking to resell this in due course.

Whilst most telephone exchanges are FTTC enabled, BTO are also providing a system whereby you can have FTTP provided in those areas. So all this will become doable.

P.S. As for routers, you should probably consider looking for one that provides 750mb on the 2.4GHz frequency, 1.3Gb on the 5GHz frequency and a 1Gbit LAN. There aren't too many Cable routers available at the moment which can support these features.

P.P.S. I trust you have the computing power to benefit from these connection speeds?

      Re: even faster?

Sky started FTTP trials last year. Admittedly it is unknown when they will be ready to launch, but then BTO aren't ready either.

Going back to the issue of two lines, with the right setup you could connect two lines to a server and share their joint connections to your own LAN. Do not ask me which package would manage this the best though.

      Re: even faster?

Hmm, so for all us lucky souls who have FTTC at the moment - will FTTP become an automatic option when it is released?

If so, then I'll sign up for FTTP day 1 of availability.
