I have read somewhere about a cheaper wifi adapter (Vonets VAP11G WIFI Bridge: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics) Im not sure if it will work, but I do not want to pay 60 for an adapter from Sky. I give them enough money! Its hard as pay to upgrade to fibre and dont get that faster speeds on anytime!
That might not do the job either. That's Wireless G so its theoretical top speed is 54Mbs but the further away from the router the more that speed degrades and thats before you take the overheads into account. You obviously don't need the full fibre speed for Anytime+ so it may do the job but depending on circumstances it may have the same issue as you do with your Homeplugs.

For example the speed to start watching a film seems to take just as long as when I had standard broadband. Is this right?
It is possible Sky are restricting the download speed to make it fair on all. Enough fibre users connecting at the same time could swamp the servers.

Surely this cannot be so. Why would they launch a product that is superfast and advertise it for Anytime+ etc and restrict it.

I will do a network test when i get home and then call Sky!

      Thanks for your reply.

Almost all servers are restricted in some way, there are very few that will max out a highspeed fibre connection.

Sounds ok to me. The HD box has a 10/100 connection, the difference will be normal network traffic.

How do you know what speeds your sky box is downloading at?
