Unlike ADSL, DLM on fibre runs continuously which isn't a bad thing I guess although if you do have a temporary line fault that caused the profile to drop it can take a while for it to reset at the higher rate especially if it's switched interleaving on.

I had a fault on my line that cleared after a day but DLM dropped the profile to 33/5 and set an interleaving depth of 2106. It took about a week for it to switch back to 40/10 and three weeks to reduce the interleaving depth to 730 which is still high.

Not true really. DLM runs continuously on ADSL, unless for some reason it is suspended. After the first 10 days in Training mode, DLM goes into Management mode where it continues to monitor the line. I think maybe the biggest difference is that DLM on fibre starts at the highest possible speed and then reduces the speed until it is stable. On ADSL it starts at 4 Mb or lower then rises to the most stable speed.

That's odd. I didn't think DLM took weekends off, it never did with ADSL. More likely to be a foil to extend the action on a complaint period.

Nah its just i personally thought that it was exactly 10 days from installation, and they said nope its 14 in total as weekends are not counted in the training period its only weekdays.. odd really why they dont say next 14 days..

He has been fed rubbish. The DLM does not go on holiday at the weekend. The initial training period runs for up to 10 days, but in some cases the training does not start until up to 3 days after the line is activated on ADSL. I believe it starts immediately with Fibre, but not 100% sure.
