I have an Android tablet which has single channel 'N' wifi and it connects to my 300Mbps TP_Link AP at 150 Mbps as expected but it connects to the 2504N at 72 Mbps. Does this imply the router is has 2 channel capability and and could actually support up to 300Mbps?

No the 2504N is single channel, if it were double channel you would be connecting to it at 144/150, the same as your TP Link.

@simon194: Essentially this indicates that your WiFi n adaptor is connecting at its maximum speed of 150mbps on the paired channel, like quite a lot of adaptors out there.

Take a look at the table in this thread: http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/techn...on-speeds.html

I would imagine that it would be difficult to change that WiFi adaptor in a tablet. Not because of access, but because of getting a suitable driver installed.
