      Usenet Providers

What Usenet providers are people getting the best speeds with on Sky Fibre Pro?

I'm synced at the full 80mbps, but Astraweb isn't maxing my line.

Just now I was getting 7MB/s with Astraweb, then when I added Gibinews as well I was getting 8.5MB/s, so Astraweb is not maxing it out.

      Thanks.

Now that's weird, you get faster speed than me with just 10 connections.

I might try out Newsdemon, or maybe Supernews or something, but they have more take downs.

Stick with gibinews mate. It's giganews but much much cheaper!

      I can't find cheaper

A good one is sunny-usenet. I use them on my unlimited line. They do speed packages but all unlimited. They have a 60 and a 90 which are 4.35 a month.

@williammorris I see Gibinews is 3.5 euros per month or at current exchange rate thats 2.89 per month; is that correct and how long have you had it. I also see its dutch or is it Belguim? What is the reliability like?

I'm actually getting faster speeds on Gibinews than Astraweb.

Astra: Downloaded in 8 minutes 34 seconds at an average of 6.8 MB/s

Gibi: Downloaded in 7 minutes 49 seconds at an average of 7.4 MB/s

Both together (Others must have been using the internet): Downloaded in 7 minutes 34 seconds at an average of 7.7 MB/s

with only 30mb connection speed that would more than suit me, as that's on 3mb/s. I am currently with Ngroups but had issues with their SSL server on many occasions it goes up and down like a yoyo. If this is rock solid its worth 2.89 per month.

Had them for nearly a year. Never gone down once. Very good indeed.
