Are you Caning Your Sky Fibre Connection?

Just a quick question, to see if people are making use of their new connections.

Anyone on Sky Fibre - Are you caning the internet, as in downloading loads? (not bothered if legal or illegal, thats your choice)

If so what sort of data volume have you used so far?

PS Could you please leave some internet for us on slower connections to eventually download.

Kind of. I'm using the opportunity to download my games from Steam that I hadn't bothered to because of their size. On the whole since yesterday morning I've downloaded about 35 gig. That'll stop now though because I've got what I want.

My busiest month so far: I've downloaded 170GB and uploaded 1.5GB of data. Have given it a rest for a couple of days recently though, don't want to upset it! But all in all, downloads have ran consistently at 4.2-4.5MBps even at peak times.

      I'm lovin' it!

Re: Are you Caning Your Sky Fibre Connection?

Been a quiet month so far with the US series' ending..
To be honest, ADSL would do for my use but it's nice to download files quickly if I need them ASAP but all my TV stuff happens over night on my NAS.
The 731GB total is around a month old..

As said before, more taking advantage of the speed.

I downloaded 20gb worth of sky movies to the sky go desktop, just because i could and will watch them in the next 24 days.

using anytime+ more and also set up an htpc too

not really. grabbed a couple of torrents the other day but nothing major. Its just nice to be able to download xbox live game add-ons and DCUO updates quickly. as well as watching bbc iplayer, itv player & youtube videos etc without the buffering

I could stream Quad HD very happily on 40Mb, would imagine that would be even quicker now at ~64Mb

Re: Are you Caning Your Sky Fibre Connection?

I average around 250gb a month, sometimes it's a lot lower, sometimes higher. My download average hasn't really increased that much with the faster speeds, just means I can get what I want - faster. See no reason in downloading just for the sake of it, "wow 4.6MB/s" get's old pretty quick
