Fair enough , thanks for the clarification.

Yes TV catchup is nearly live and that was added to the law in Jan. I don't watch anything live. I either wait till it's available on Iplayer or get something from Anytime+ via the website. I don't use any mobile apps.

I have no choice with Iplayer. I used a little streaming box and it has no way of getting live TV it only does Netflix and Iplayer. My sky connection is dedicated just to that box.

Anyway with the way virgin is currently performing i'd be lucky to get anything. I've seen people on here kick off because their sync has dropped from 39999 to 34 something. Yes that's bad. My connection right now is synced at 110000000 bps which is 100mbps and I am struggling to pull 8mbps which is what 92% less!? It's Sunday so everything is congested they say. It was like this at 4am. So I don't think that's quite right...

I was going to suggest the OT posts should be moved to their own thread to avoid cluttering this one.

gibinews is unknown but also good and cheap. I used them for 3 months no problems maxed out. google them.

Also I currently use Sunny Usenet (again google them) you need to whack it into translation as it's Dutch but they are brill. I only have 7mpbs now so I bought their 5mbps package which costs me 13 euros for the year. I have it running all the time and it never interferes with my netflix or surfing.

They do several packages. but what I like about them the most is that they charge in speed. They have a 30 and 60 package which would suit 40mbps - or if your on 80 then they have a 90 package. The 60 package for example is 3.72 a month and you will max out.

I intend to use them for a long time - they have been around years and are number 1 in Holland and other places.

Just wanted to share them really.
      Thanks for replying.

Yeah I am on Gibinews atm, but I wasn't sure if they would be able to max my line. My subscription will last a few weeks into me having Fibre anyway so I guess I can test it out.

Btw what connections did you use on Astraweb? Fro what I've heard a 10/10 split with the EU and US servers is the best, and I've heard people say they've halved 1gbps lines with Astraweb.

Since I've had fibre my usage has shot up but that's only due to me being able to do things that I could not before with my 1.5Mb speed like live streaming.

Re: Are you Caning Your Sky Fibre Connection?

I'm getting better speeds with Gibinews than Astraweb.

I'm getting 8.1MB/s on Gibinews atm, but loads of computers are on.
