after 1 week my ping went to 17-18ms to bbc

Cheers buddy : I do only use command prompt to actually check the ping, this normally shows 17ms-19ms.

I only put up pingtest.net as its quick and easy and easier for less techies to do

Re: Thought it was too good to last

Had JD Speed Tester on all night, nothing out of the ordinary. All figures are constant Download 33.2 Upload 1.7 Ping 23 ms.
I have just noticed something strange about my phone though, the dial tone is intermittent, as if I have a message. I have dialled 1571 and am told there are no messages, yet it is the same all the time. Could this indicate a possible line fault ? The phone works fine incoming/outgoing calls are fine.
      Thanks

      Pete.

The above problem has just been solved, just leave another message and then delete it. So that has ruled that out.

have you hacked your modem. if so it will show you any CRC, HEC, FEC errors on your line.

No, I did see the instructions once and I'm sure I downloaded the hacked firmware to do it, but I think I must have deleted them when I had a clearout of my other HD

Re: Thought it was too good to last

So I have unlocked the BTO Modem and can now view some more stats, but it is pretty meaningless to me. So can anyone comment on the stats or compare them to their own:

      Thanks.

The first thing that I noticed is the high number of CRC errors. This means that there is possibly an issue with your line. Perhaps some other members with SFU can compare there figures with yours?

This may be having a detrimental effect on your connection speeds and throughput.

my errors are a lot worse! lemme get a pic.

      up time : 10 days 22 hours 16 minutes 27 seconds

if i re-sync now my snr would go back up to 6.3db & the max obtainable goes up to 46mb
