Sky Don't Want You To Leave.

My girlfriends sister has had nothing but bother for 4 years with Sky Broadband Unlimited. Fault after fault and she never got more than 6 months with out a problem. They know the fault is 1.5 miles down the road from the house, but BT and sky are at a loss to what it is. They have lived with it because it corrects itself after an hour. The problem got worse last week, and her boyfriend, on my advice finally snapped and went to cancel Sky and go back to Virgin Media. At the very least I said, you should get a counter offer from Sky that might make it worth while. I know people say Virgin is not as good as Sky, but they had Virgin before, and never had problems like this.
Sky then rang back and were very concerned about the service they have received and wanted to make amends. They asked what can they do to make them stay.
He said, I want SUFB installed and I want it cheap. I Won't pay for the installation either, thinking they would just say it's not possible.
The offer he got was... Free installation....... that's no problem sir.

You want SUFB for cheap... mmmmm.... How about Sky Fibre for 1 a month.

Needless to say he said yes and should have it installed in around 2 weeks time.

It's nice when a plan comes together.

I dont think anyone is paying for installation so you havent really got anything there that anyone else isnt getting. Although getting it for a 1 is something of a triumph i reckon!!

They are now charging for installations unless you registered an interest in fibre. They might have not charged anyway or you could talk them out of it by saying forget it then, but he wanted to make sure they gave him the best deal possible for the hassle they have had over the years.

It's 50. Glad I got in early and got it free. I bet if people haggled they could get it free.
