Also which server for speedtest are you using? Try using the massey server in France, i usually get good consistenant speeds from them.

What does BBC's Iplayer state as well when you perform a test on that?
Just tried the Massey server got 17.6 down which to be honest is a couple of meg down on the Manchester server which I have been using most of the time in order to get some consistancy into my checks.
Just done the BBC one {again} that gave 25.6 BUT put the streaming speeds at as low as 5.1
Not tried the Linux yet BUT using the Leaseweb site a 1 gig file was coming down {again} at about 1.77
      All very frustrating !
Cheers and thanks for your input!

The reason I asked you to do that was to compare what you are currently seeing with what I used to get. You are experiencing pretty much exactly what I was before I had my profile reset.

Can TOTALLY sympathise with you buddy and hope you get it sorted soon

I have allready done that on many occasions they are coming down at between 1.6 and 1.8. NOT good I thinks !
Hi Skycarp, if you try downloading windows 8 more than once at the same time. does your 1.8 get split between both download (0.8 each) or do both get 1.8MB/s?

Hi this is the link sky gave me to do a speedtest BT Speed Tester Lite (Beta)
On this site i can get 36.5 mb down 1.71 up, but on speedtest.net the best i have had is 19mb down,1.70 up. Downloading a file i have seen 2.5mb/s, so to be honest i think something dodgy is going on.

This was raised before and I think the reason you get the full speed is that the test is going direct to the BT server and not through Sky. This was refuted by some, but I am convinced it is the only explanation.

So the BT tester is correct then and any other we use wont give us the correct speed.

I think it shows what you should have, other testers pass through the Sky servers where it seems the speed is lost.
