      Its definayely an N rated. I don't know how to check what speed the card is connected at just know how to check download speed

      I have both pc & mac. I get the same results with both computers, my iPad & iPhone shows 17 on speedtest too

      ok, on your mac, goto spotlight and search for network utility. in network utility click Info, then select your Wi-fi card and look for the link speed.

      on your pc goto network and sharing centre and click on view status, it should show you properties for you wifi-card and the speed.

      also, login to your sky router, click setup and make sure mode is set to Auto

      On mac its Wireless Network Adapter (802.11 a/b/g/n)

      On PC its Intel Wireless N 1030

      ok, what speeds are they connecting at and have you checked that mode for wireless in the sky router is set to Auto

      The router is set to performance now as thats what sky suggested and i am getting faster speed with that

      if its set to '54g Performance' therein lies your problem. your router is only broadcasting a wireless G signal. hence the reason I asked you to check this and also report what speed your laptop and mac are connecting at. please check this

      The mac Link Speed is 54 Mbit/s

      The PC Link Speed is 54 Mbit/s

      Im confused now as the Router is supposed to be an N Router.

      I've just changed the router back to auto and i get Link Speed 144 Mbit/s. confused
