I presume the problem is with BT's database. My exchange has been fibre enabled since last year, however the exchange is only partially enabled so it could be that. I'm not at all surprised there has been no advertisements from Sky about this fibre beta test we're all on

      Phew, I'm not alone .

Just spent 10 minutes on LiveChat with Sky after receiving the email this morning, my installation planned for next week was confirmed so nothing to worry about at the moment.

My wife had an email today telling us we live in a Fibre enabled area.

      Well, thanks for the info.

Just had the same email as the OP even though I have been connected since the end of March. I wonder if they have also emailed the billing department to let them know I can't have it after all. I don't suppose that means they wont be charging me for it

Not necessarily. The BT checker says I can order fibre, but Sky has today sent me the "unfortunately, it's not currently available in your area" email.

On the other hand, BT says I might be able to get ADSL at 512 kHz, but would require an engineer visit owing to the long line length. My Sky broadband is currently synchronised at 6.3 MHz, i.e. the BT estimate is out by an order of magnitude.

Isn't technology wonderful! Maybe one day internet access will be as simple as a phone line, but it sure isn't yet.

I too have had the email saying unfortunately the number i gave shows SFU is not currently available but atleast in my case they are actually correct as they have put the fiber cables in everywhere for my exchange but havent actually fitted any fiber cabs yet, hopefully not too much longer to wait tho

Sky fibre installed on the 27th of April. Got the email telling me sky fibre is not available in my area. If that's the case then, I've got the whole cabinet to myself which is nice.

This just proves the problems sky are having with this fibre roll out. What if these emails are going out to people wanting sky fibre but now think they can't. Just sending more customer's to BT if you ask me.
