would not even both wasting your time with either OFCOM or BT they have no obligation to even provide you internet all they have to do is provide you a line for voice calls.

Watchdog won't be interested as its not a scam or con, you might as well complain that some places suffer from hardwater and have trouble with limescale.

The only way BT will do anything is if you can make a business case for them doing that. If you can get enough people will to do FTTP then chance are they will do it. You could also find that other provider might be willing to tender for the contract, but you would need alot of people willing to put money where their mouth is.

Past examples where communities have got BTO openreach to install hardware the communities have had to put a deposit down that unless a certain number of people sign up they would lose.

ALso as suggest fibre on demmand will soon be released.

There not any options that not going to cost you money.

      Re: Aluminium telephone wire

After an awful lot of complaining to Sky fibre team and 4 visits from BTO engineers BTO are here this afternoon replacing an 80 metre length of aluminium cable with copper that will see my speeds improve greatly, I hope. Thanks for the advice in earlier posts Scubbie, not only will I benefit but hopefully my neighbours

They are back on Monday, they have to renew a bigger length of cable than the anticipated 80 metre length. I will post when it's completed

Well BTO have replaced the old aluminium cable with copper, a much bigger job than I expected, they are back tomorrow morning to complete everything. I'm now getting 31mb down, I'm over 1km from the cabinet however they reckon I could get 37mb down.
Nevertheless, I'm happy with 31mb down compared to the 17mb I was getting before they replaced the aluminium cable. Really pleased my speeds are up in the 30's. Result

      Nice result!

1km of cable is quite heavy to handle, let alone fit underground or overground. A lot of the delays to do with the rollout of FTTC have been down to blocked conduits so I am sure that they are having fun with your connection.
