try downloading this Download: Windows XP Service Pack 3 Network Installation Package for IT Professionals and Developers - Microsoft Download Center - Confirmation it should come down around the mid 4s
I down loaded as suggested, I got 1.45MB/s with slight variation of 0.01
      Using JD tester DL=36.8 UL=9.13 Ping 11ms IP=94
Is there something wrong with this.

this download may not always give you the full speed. it doesnt always do so when I use it. you may need to use a download manager so that the amount of connections to it are increased. if you dont like download managers try downloading it 4 times simultaneously and add the figures together. its not ideal tho.

If you have configured JD's properly this is a good indicator that things are fine as well.

another download to try is Desktop | Ubuntu

[b]EDIT: also it is avisable not to post your full IP address, please edit your post and amend it usless the staff beat you to it. i will PM scubbie)

Well i am still in the half speed issue, i thought that cause my ip changed also to a 94.x.x.x today that my speed would increase, but still only 2.5/2.5 throughput. Guess we're waiting for the proper solution from sky.

The IP address has nothing to do with the half speed that is myth as i have had 176.x.x.x and now i have 94.x.x.x no speed issues always 37-38meg

I was thinking that perhaps it is related. If the routing from you exchange is different between different groups of IP Address ranges, then it is possible that for the range starting with 176 yours has a good route, whilst someone in a different exchange has a rubbish route.

also reported over at the sky forums they think they found the cause and hope to have it fixed in the next 2 weeks, this is more than they ever said b4, and comes from one of the fibre team
