I'm led to believe the US netflix has a lot more content than the UK one.

I have a 176. address and don't have half speed issues, but do have problems with peak time slow downs.

The range of programs and films is much larger than the British Netflix at the moment. It's got more of the latest programs and more classic programs. I'm loving re watching magnum, Cheers, Airwolf, the list goes on.

Hi all! Been a while since my last post! Just got my upgrade from sky unlimited to fibre unlimited yesterday morning. I know its only the 2nd day, but im only getting 15ish mbps of my estimated 37-38mbps. Honestly was expecting 20-30 on day of install.

Some people here have issues with IP address' starting with 176? Coincidental or not, im also on that IP. Wondering if I should wait a bit, or call sky up, what ya think guys?

Hi. Sky won't do anything until the 10th day so I wouldn't ring them just yet. First I would eliminate any home setup problems, like, try using a wired connection for speed tests. If the problem persists then it's time to give sky a ring.

re: Sky Admits fault with Sky and BT network resulting in slow connects @ 1/2 speed

176 ip range is not faulty if it was were the problem was think sky would quickly picked up.

at one stage it did llook like on my connection that the 176 under performed compared to the 93/94 range.

however as I not spent longer on 176 range and now have more speed test data to base it on, it perform equally as well, well suppose that should be equally as bad.

re: Sky Admits fault with Sky and BT network resulting in slow connects @ 1/2 speed

Is anyone with a 93/94 ip range getting the correct location though? seems the 176 ip seems to put everyone in different locations.

Also now my 2 week dlm is up today my download speed has only moved a lil bit, i've gone from 2.5 to 2.8/3 which still aint its full capacity :\

Do sky actualy have any idea what is wrong?!?!

p.s what throughput should i be getting on a 40meg connection?

What is your sync speed? What are you using to measure your throughput? Very few sites will max out a fibre connection.

re: Sky Admits fault with Sky and BT network resulting in slow connects @ 1/2 speed

My sync speed is 39992 down and 9996 up. I'm testing the throughput via microsoft website downloading the xp sp3 (for testing) even torrents go no higher than 2.8/3 on private trackers, even used bbc iplayer to download a file and get 2.8/3. Would it be wise contacting Sky or waiting for this new firmware. Plus my ip still thinks i live in Sunderland :\
