So is this fibre half-speed issue only being seen when the router is allocated an IP address by Sky starting with 17x ?

? for someone who knows more than me, which ain't hard. When I run NETSTAT without either chrome or explorer running I see 4 or 5 connections established. When I open one window however I see 30ish, I've ran security sweeps etc all come back clean.

Is there a way to see what is actually connecting behind the scenes so that I can determine whether this simple thing is causing the 1/2 speed issue? btw I've tried safemode with networking.

      Thanks

re: Sky Admits fault with Sky and BT network resulting in slow connects @ 1/2 speed

Im on the 176.x.x.x ip address and have been having speed issues, seems any site i download from (thinkbroadband, leaseweb, even torrents) i get the speeds of 2.1-2.4 max out of 40 meg down.

Its really annoying that its not running at full potential, if i phoned sky they would still blame the dlm, even though its got 3 days left :\

Edit: my ip location is Sunderland, even though i live in Taunton (south west)

93 and 94 that I also pop up onto still suffer 1/2 speed but when on 17 ip address it even worse

I've only had 2 IP addresses in the (almost) three months since getting SFU - both 94.x.x.x and no speed problems.

For a moment there I thought a trend had been spotted with 176.x.x.x IP addresses, but Damo82 has had half-speed on 94.x.x.x so back to the drawing board...

Another thing, when i got my follow up call since having fibre installed i did question about why my ip address is saying im in Sunderland and his response was (thats the last person who had that ip before you got it) This can't be true can it? does it sound like a fob off?!?!

I think it used to be the case.

Some things have changes and it does depend on the IP Search service being used. Some services are more accurate than others.

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms

Sounds like a fob off. I've not had half speed issues, but I've had 3 ip address moves, London, Manchester and Coventry, but my ip address has never changed.
I know this for sure because I use unblock us for US Netflix, and it has to be registered to the same ip address to work.
If it kept changing all the time, I would have to re subscribe to them.
