I've had not had half speed problems, but since I had fibre installed, I've had 3 different IP address moves. I live in Bradford but,
I started in London, then move to Manchester, now I'm in Coventry.
My visit to Manchester wasn't pleasant, as that was when interleaving kicked in on my line and I lost a fair bit of ping speed but not actual speed.
Since the 40/10 regraded, and the move to Coventry, interleaving has gone.
Interesting that my speedtest.net app, on my phone knows exactly where I am in the world, and that the closest sever to me is Leeds.

How do you find out if interleaving is on or off ??????????

My ping was 15ms when I first got fibre, then over night it shot up to over 25ms and never went below. How the DLM works is, your line starts at the top speed, then comes down to where it is stable. If it detects a problem, it kicks interleaving in, then if that doesn't stabilize your line, it drops your speed.
I was luck it didn't drop my speed.
It might happen to me again if my line is struggling.
      I'm hoping not.

re: Sky Admits fault with Sky and BT network resulting in slow connects @ 1/2 speed

sky has given me credit to cover the test for a month to see if upgrading to pro resolve the problem by changing the profile on the line, unfortunatly it did not resolve the issue.

However the speed went up slightly now gettong 31-45 meg down and 4-7 meg up on speed testers when connect via a wired connection. The ping is still very high and all over the place.

ALso still only get 20-25 meg when i download test files off the thinkbroadband website, sky go or sky anytime+/on demand.

So in summary upgrading to pro does not really make any differnce.
