Sky router shows a connection of 39992 kbs, but the various speedtesters are giving me only about 20-25Mbps... a big download was about the same.. very disappointing - who do I contact?

      (Edit to add -)
The engineer said it was the first Sky install he had done.... and we've got two phone lines here - the other one has been out of order (no voice service, not even a hiss, but it's ADSL is connecting at ~1.5mbps, normally 5mbps) since about an hour after he left... Not a good experience at all..
Have you called Sky back? Make sure you tell them about your second line too...

It's been faster today - speedtester.bt.com gave me 37.68 Mbps, so that seems OK. BT have fixed the other line (broken wire in the street cab - I could have told them that, given the circumstances of it's failure.) and all is OK there too. I'll be keeping an eye on things though.... shakey starts to things make me wonder if it's going to be reliable at all...

I reported my issue by phone today and talked to someone in the Fibre team. He was very helpful and got me to run lots of diagnostics commands net trace, netstat, ping etc. I was also asked to bring up my "local" dominos pizza which it did correctly.

At the end of the call however, we were no where nearer sorting the problem, just investigating it..

Again, synced at 39992, 2000 but getting a throughput of around half that...

I didn't mention the RADSL profiles and it wasn't brought up - I also didn't mention these forums! He did say however that a lot of people getting new installs are reporting this issue and they are keen to find out more about it..

      No fix then as yet.....

Sounds intriguing. Perhaps it means that a fault has been identified on the Sky core network (which is perhaps isolated to a particular geographical area - it would be interesting to analyse the locations of the people experiencing the half-speed problem) that is causing traffic to be routed via an alternative but "narrower" path this has caused more congestion than usual? I suppose such a slowdown would be especially more magnified and noticeable for fibre users.

      Found this:

I was told something similar earlier in the week, this afternoon for the first time I am now getting 37.5 Mb from BT speedtester. 35Mb from sky user speedtest.

Progress, or even final fix? I hope so.

Just to add, speedtest.net tests now above 30 Mb/s too :-) I still show in the 'wrong' part of the country though.

Well I notice tonight for the first time for me that speedtest.net is now giving me results above 25mb - just got a 36MB speed there..

Downloading windows 8 preview here at 2.4MB/sec

Better than what it was anyway...

Anyone else notice a slight difference?

      See if it keeps up!
