40/10, when's it coming and how much will it be?

Hi everyone. Don't really want to pay the 30/month for 80/20 but would like a better upload speed than 2mbps. Any idea when Sky will be launching a 40/10 product and how much it will be?

      Thanks

      Matt

Rumors are that its launching in May (possibly tomorrow) - its not expected to be a free upgrade (figures of 25 have been bounded about), but you never know....

Re: 40/10, when's it coming and how much will it be?

Remember though it is only a rumour about 1st May

Reading another thread on here, 2 people so far have been told that they can have / upgrade to 80/20

      However, both people have had the following problems;

      1) The regrade didn't go through from 40/2 to 80/20 as advised it would at Midnight last night
      2) The original order failed, but was reordered and told to be successful on Friday of last week - Although not connected yet

No other person has had (apart from staff trials) the option to get 40/10 so far.

For now I'll probably go with the 40/2 anyway and just wait until their upgrade system is working in June or whenever it was.

Yeah, I'll probably wait until I get back from my holidays and see where we are.

When I first hacked my BTO modem I had 80mb max attainable, and this has dropped to 72. The BT engineer claimed I'd get 103Mbit, and I wonder if the ton of connections that were done that day meant my max would only be 80, and a few more connections have dropped it to 72.

I want the 80 regrade for the upload alone, but it would be nice to get at least 60-65mbit down go with.

If I come on here tomorrow and can see some success regarding a re-grade then I'll do it before I go away.

My max attainable rate was 110Mbit, then all of a sudden it dropped to around 72Mb, it's rather strange as it shoots upto 103Mb and will stay like that for hours (it is 103Mb now since about 1am last night) but I'm expecting it to drop back into the 70's at any point. It seems my SNR fluctuates by about 10dB (either 15.xdB or 25.xdB, never anything inbetween). I just wish I knew what could be causing this interference.

In terms of 40/10 it would be great but I'm not prepared to pay extra for it.

I think if nothing else they should do 40/6 free re-grade. ^^

Any upload increase for free would be welcome and would make accessing your pc away from home easier and more seamless (remote desktop, personal media etc)

25 for 10 upload? No ta, not really worth it. I'm hoping Sky see sense ahead of their future plans for other services and get everyone ready for free!!
