      Sorry all...

It was a typo when I said send emails, of course I was talking about sending from my phone TO my server, therefore it is the inbound port.

Didn't want you all to waste time checking the outbound which of course works otherwise you wouldn't be able to send email via SMTP.

There is as I said ways around this, providing you dont do as I was doing which was to forward email from my domain host to my server at home, as that uses SMTP on 25 and I cannot change that. However, I have worked around that now by doing POP3 calls from my home server; but for my phone, I just chose 587 and set my server to listen on that port, and it's all fine now.

      Hi

I think I was the first with the Port 25 problem and here is the answer from Sky

Along with emailing the Openreach team I emailed our own Network team to make sure there was nothing we were doing differently with fibre. The result was an email back from the Network team to state that the issue is a filter set in place that isn’t present on the standard ADSL network. They also believe that this should be fully resolved by the end of this week.

      Hope that helps us all

Will help those in future. I spent 2 hours on Friday changing ports and finding solutions for PC's, Laptops, IP*ds and Androids...

now I have it all working I dont think I have the will to change it all back again!

Made me have to think a little bit though.

This may not be relevant but I thought I'd add... the title of this thread sounds like the name of an episode from The Big Bang Theory
