Out of interest, do you know if I can I flash this firmware on my adsl version of the 2504n router? so that I have a fibre router backup?

Jingars, that really sucks! I'd be fuming with a total no show.

Getting around 2mb downloading XP SP3 300mb file so will see if that increases later.

So, does the DLM (or whatever it is called) happen on the fibre line, cause I am connecting at 40Mb, yet downloading at 24Mb?!?

They spoke to me happily enough and our account is in my wifes name. I just need to confirm the account password when I ring them up.

Re: Fibre Install today - waiting on bto engineer

Mine didn't turn up. Well he did just not to my house.

Got to 1pm and he hadn't turned up so checked the phone for missed calls. Seems a call had been missed and no message had been left by the engineer but his number was still available via 1471 so phoned him back.

He says he turned up and no-one was in. He then gave the address he went to and rather than goto xxA which is this house number he went to xx which is next door. So he went to the wrong house. He has refused to now turn up despite it being his fault he went to the wrong house.

Sky initially wouldn't do anything more than rebook it for the 17th May which isn't acceptable but are atleast now talking to BT to try and sort something much sooner. Still annoying as hell and no guarentee it will have a happy ending.

Even if they do sort it and get it installed next week does anyone know the best place to complain. I know it's not really sky's fault but I ordered via them and they have caused a completely wasted morning so some compensation should be due

I would wait until you have got your connection sorted incase you have any more issues or if you dont think they are being very helpful you can complain by email

Re: Fibre Install today - waiting on bto engineer

      Spoken with Sky fibre team.

Cut to the chase - screwed up Sky system has not interfaced with BT. There has been no order for our fibre with BT by Sky.

Vague and completely unsatisfactory response from Sky as to how they propose to rectify the situation; we may get a call on Tuesday of next week. And I may be the next Archbishop of Canterbury. In any event, it seems clear that we will get added to the back of the BT queue, despite ordering the service on the first day that Sky were taking web orders.

Complaint raised with Sky, for all the good that it will do us.

Clearly Sky have internal IT systems written by Fisher Price; what sort of order fulfillment system will allow them to prepare and send a router, yet not validate that they have managed to order the line that the damn thing is going to be attached to?

No pro-active management of the order process at all.

Seriously tempted to cancel and go to BT direct - especially with their recent speed bump.

      In summary - useless.
