Does anyone know if BTO will push another profile out after the 17a with more power or will they just move to FTTP on Demand?

The reason I say this is because there are only 2 Cab's further from the exchange then mine and with FTTC no lost of speed. I'm around 140m+ from the Dslam and have good speed. See I'm not sure if we are lucky or not as we don't suffer from speed drops due to cross-talk and our Dslam is full (200 Slots) and in fact BT have installed another 1 30m odd away from the first.

The speed drops could be caused by many things but BTO stated that the higher the frequency used the steeper the drop in speed. The route, lenght and quality of a line may also cause speed drops.

possibly a 30a profile, but you would need the FTTC cab in your garden to reach the potential top speed

Oh are you rubbing it in that BTO put my fibre cabinet on someones garden and had to remove it lol.

But I agree I think whislt FTTC is a great product it also has its limitations. Those can only be removed by FTTP

no, i forgot about that sorry. i was being a bit sarcastic, i meant the your line would need to be very short to get the top whack speed of 200Mbps.

Full FTTP to everyone is years off yet, fibre cable still not that cheap and the waste cable is worth nothing and digging up pathways, roads etc is costly and a pain, unless they use existing ducts and 'blown fibre' which is more likely

yup, they have very limited pockets, hence the reason no virgin cable on my estate and why they are handing back the TV network they bought off BT in Westminster for free, its a bad network and to costly to rectify
