      Location of Fibre BB Router

I have a Fibre BB installation date of 11 May. My master socket and Sky N router are currently in a ground floor lobby cloakroom behind a cavity brick wall to the rest of the house. My main pc is located on the far side of the house with hard walls in between and I communicate with an Edimax Wireless N pci-e Card and two extended aerials. I have to use a selection of wireless extenders around the house to cater for laptop, Sky HD box, pc's, smartphones etc. Would I be better off, for wireless coverage, to have the router upstairs (if I can run a Cat 5 cable from the Fibre modem to the router) centrally located. If I could, then the barriers would be mainly carpets, floorboards and ceiling boards rather than brick. If so, what would be the maximum length of Cat5 cable I should run.
      Any suggestions appreciated.

      Thanks, PedroUK

Yeah you would probably get a better signal going off what you've said although the proof is in the pudding and you won't know until you try. Maximum length you should have the cat5 is 100 meters.
