      Hi All,

I had my fibre installed today and was wondering if people hacked their modem straight away or waited10 days for the DLM to take place?

      Thanks

      Re: BTO Modem Hacking

Some members have gone through the process of hacking the BTO Modem within two hours of the BTO Engineer leaving.

Remember that you must be careful. Whilst providing the links on this forum we can take no responsibility should things go wrong.

Thanks for the reply. Not concerned with bricking the modem tbh, just don't want to drop the sync speed by rebooting stuff I'll give it a go in the morning.

Once hacked you can see statistics like the max attainable rate on your line.

I tried to follow the instructions on this site but the google docs link didn't work (i'll add that the link was off thinkbroadband so not an issue with the instructions posted here exactly ). I did find a PDF somewhere but thats on my home laptop, when i get back tonight i'll post it.

As sirbadger has stated, by hacking the BTO Modem you can gain access to the full statics. This also includes the ability to see if there are any line issues.

Some members have also made a couple of adjustments which have improved the upload speed and ping a little.

Edit: A link to the instructions for hacking the BTO modem is available in the SBUF FAQ #18: http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/sky-b...dband-faq.html

If this is one of my posts of the FAQ, please let me know which link so I can amend the post.
