      That would be for free?

Woohoo, I'll be placing an order on Thursday for Pro then :-

      Attainable rate (kbit/s) 70064/22809

Despite the drop from 82 down to 72 initially - it looks stable at 70. I'd go for that.

I still don't think that I will get the 80/20 product although my attainable rate is 95536/29051 (at this time, it fluctuates) I can't bring myself to pay an extra £10. If they restructure their pricing i.e SFUP for £25 then I would go for it. 40/2 (or 40/10 if its a free upgrade) will suffice, besides I am the only one using the bandwidth.

Be interested to see your ping times a few days after the upgrade. I have a line that is capable of around 100/30 at night time and drops to around 71/16 during the day and early evening, very annoying but I'm guessing when it is at 71/16 there will be quite a lot of noise on the line so I'd be worried about interleaving being ramped up and increasing ping times considerably (last thing I want for online gaming).

So would be really interesting to see your results given that you can't get the full 80 and also to see what ip profile/throughput you actually get given the lower sync.

I can't justify an extra £10 for 80/20. Original estimate was maximum attainable of 59Mbps but the BTO engineer who installed my SFU gave me a maximum attainable reading of 66Mbps, and I think the cabinet is currently fairly empty. Going from £7.50 for SBU (3.5Mbps) to £20 for SFU (37Mbps) is reasonable value and as much as Mrs. Speedyrite will permit! Another £10 for a wee bit more will not get through the finance committee...

BT Infinity – super fast broadband with a fibre optic internet connection Click the "Can I get Infinity" button, although I'd rather go by attainable rate on the HG612, BT checker says I can get 80/20 however this isn't the case unfortunately although in my case it's most likely down to some neighbours using some device that causes massive interference, rather than the actual line.

There is an url where you can check what likely speed you will get even though your exchange is not yet enabled.

My exchange should have been enabled on the 1st of this month but is not showing as such yet.

I have used this url previously but cannot remember it.

Re: Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro Rumour

      Hi All,

Just so you are aware I have just ordered the 40/2 package and was informed that as of this Friday SKY will be enforcing a £50 install fee on both 40/2 and Pro..... I was told this by both the agent in Retentions I was speaking to and Greg from the Fibre team. They also confirmed that we should be able to upgrade to the 80/20 Online by the end of this week.

I did want to order Pro but was told “no” only New Sky Customers..... Boo, I did persist for over an hour but gave in and went for the 40/2 as I am getting free installation.

Now will just need to get my Billion 7800n working with it, am user SKY MER on ADSL so should not be too much on an issue.

      Cheers Jason
