Namesco BroadbandMax Bandwidth speedtest | Test your ADSL connection speed

This is quite a good one for test downloads.

The problem with speedtest, net is that it is too popular. Heavy usage means its results are not always to be believed. Have you tried our own tester? Sky User - Broadband Speed Tester

Are you paying 30 for the pro or did they upgrade for the same price as standard fibre?

Why would they have upgraded him to a 80/20 connection for for the same price as a 40/2 when it has been announced the 80/20 would be 30. When and if any upgrade comes I would see it as a 40/2 to a 40/10 connection and then would it remain at 20 or go to 25?

I thought it would be but was just double checking as Paul mentioned earlier he had complained to the execs, thought they might have also give it to him as a free upgrade to keep him an extra happy chappy!!!

LOL, as sky are having to pay BTO even staff are having to pay something towards having fibre. They seem to be offerings discounted line rental rather than discounted fibre, to customers who are offered a good will discount.

Scubbie's explanation about Crosstalk a few pages back is spot on - At the end of the day we are still relying on copper lines, and that is where the interference is happening.
