Reading through the ispreview site and I came across this snippet:

      A Sky Spokesperson told ISPreview.co.uk:

Sky yesterday made available a new fibre broadband product – Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro. It offers speeds of up to 76Mb and is available for customers calling Sky. With truly unlimited downloads and an upload speed of 19Mb, it’s available at a cost of 30 per month.

It is currently only available to customers who do not already have Sky Broadband or Sky Fibre, although we are working on making it available to existing Sky Broadband customers who would like to experience these faster speeds. As with Sky Fibre Unlimited, customer must also take their calls and line rental from Sky. They must also be in a Sky network area.

      Interested customers should call us.

Not sure what to make of the last line, it sort of reads to me they are inviting anyone interested to call and get an upgrade...or am I reading to much into it.

The first bit, says those on Sky BB / LLU or Fibre cannot get the 80/20 etc until June

Although we were told last week that faster speeds would be available as from 1st May (unofficially), and definitely did not state that existing customers could not get it.

I think tbh there is so much confusion between departments etc and things are likely to change, very quickly.

I also think that 40/10 is not that far away, but then again its only 29th April.

There is another very interesting rumour doing the rounds but only one person has mentioned it, so not worth repeating so far. We would rather get a couple more mentions etc first.

Re: Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro Rumour

Well the press statement above is kind of blown out of the water, someone who was already on the 40/2 Fibre product phoned the Fibre team, to upgrade, and through negotiation, got it for free.

Upgraded to 80mb fibre for free, thanks Sky! #geek
How did that come about, a phone call? Were you already on Fibre? Good news anyway!
@SkyUser I was on the 40mb service already yes, saw the pro 80mb upgrade rang up, bartered a little and got it for free
In MySky? When is it going through? Can I copy and paste your Tweet? Thanks
@SkyUser no I phoned the fibre team direct, you can copy and paste no problem
@SkyUser it is going through at midnight apparently
@SkyUser I basically said on the phone that I pay so much a month for top package, just signed up to fibre on a 12 month contract and then..
@SkyUser you bring out a superior product days later? The woman crumbled and upgraded me free of charge
Which kind of shows that our original sources etc were correct.

So it would appear that 80/20 is already available, and if you ring and it is available on your exchange, you could possibly get it without waiting until June.

I still think 1st May will see more clarity though.

LOL - A little clue, think out of the box. No more to be said on it though, until we can clarify.

LOL - Forget that rumour, the fact people can get 80/20 as an existing fibre customer is miles more important.

PS - Nowt to do with the router.

      Maybe not, but;

      1) If you are on Fibre already, you can upgrade - there is a process there already (if it happens)
      2) It only takes hours, not weeks etc
      3) It also shows that things are moving very quickly, the other day you had to wait until June for this to happen, officially

We will have to wait until after Midnight to confirm though if it is indeed true, however the person has to be up at 5:30 so will not let us know until that time ish.

Unfortunately I will be fast asleep though at that time.
