Well that sucks for people who have it already..

I wonder why its for new customers only at this point, trying to get as many new people onboard when they know the 40/2 users can't leave due to 12 month contract?

Edited to add: thinking about it that makes no sense, it must be for technical reasons i guess.

I've tried several times today but get the same answer about new customers only, until June.

Not sure if they're confused about this or if it is true but obviously as they can't yet do FTTC to FTTC migrations they might be assuming that the upgrade falls under that issue.

As it's just a regrade with a click of the mouse it's a strange one.

Maybe thats the answer maybe their systems are not fully set up for all the functions yet. Intial reports were that the Pro package was due to launch first week of May, but was going active on their systems this weekend. Although agents are slowly getting trained on Fibre it is still only a small team considering, and they can only tell you what is on their screens at the time of your call. It was only a few weeks ago that they said that they had no intentions of launching a 80/20 service.

I would say to people to try next week, and see what they say then.

30 is way too steep, also a stab in the back for existing, loyal customers.

I agree that 30 is expensive but only a few quid more than BT who have been offering fibre alot longer. What I can see happening is sky offering a free upgrade to those on 40/2 to 40/10 which could well be the reason they are not allowing upgrades yet.

What people really need to ask is the extra 10 between the two packages worth it? If you only get say 50 download and 10 upload can you justify the upgrade?

I can also see Sky's side of things too, its and unlimited service and alot of money will have to be spent to maintain the unlimited tag. They also have to pay BTO rental and also make a profit.

surely everyone who signed up in the last 10 days are new users. why not cancel (if youve not had installation yet that is) and re-order?
