Questions about router needed for SBUF

When i signed up for SKY Unlimited ADSL i got a 'Sagem wireless G router' which i didnt really like so started to use my own 'TP-LINK N router' which im very happy with.

Looking thru posts it seems you have to use SKY's own router with the fibre modem.

So does that mean i will have to purchase 'SKY's own N router' at 35 to get the best performance wireless then? I really dont want to use the Sagem G one i have, or in that fact any of SKY's routers but seems i will have to cus of the mac filtering they be doing.

      Thanks

Sky should send you the new router needed, otherwise you wouldn't be able to connect.

      newsreader is right.

although at the moment now permanent way is know of using your own router. you can however effectively turn the sky modem into a 'modem only' type device and connect your own router to this.

Obviously this means having extra equipment plugged in which can be a pain for some people but until a permanent fix is found this is the only way to use your own router on SBUF
