Nice guy, easy job for him I think.

Right where did I put all those billion floppy disks?

Edit: that works out at 4.5MB/s from usenet!!!!
As the speeds go up the beat goes higher when my fibre works right I can get 12.3! And yours will climb soon in sure!

Yeah, I gotta agree. When our line went down at the weekend I got in a proper flap about the whole thing. This sort of event will typically go wrong for our family so I really feel for JD esp the time he's having to wait for a return visit. BTO should really have capacity in their system for prioty, read fixing cockups jobs.

Derry / Dundalk and that French one people were talking about, tried a few other tests such as getting my qnap to do http downloads, the windows 7 sp1 direct from ms,tops out at 2MB and every 10-20 seconds the speed drops down to 1-200k then slowly goes back up to 2MB,same result if I use the computer either wired or wireless :-(

I phoned sky and got a really useless chap who quoted me the T&C regarding line speed etc, even when I told him its not the top speed it's the consistency of the speed he then moved to the line will test for 2 weeks before it settles! Just out of interest anyone else who got installed this morning experiencing fluctuating speeds or are they pretty stable?

My speedtests on the same servers are coming back anywhere between 5Mbps and 35Mbps,and the only time delay between then was restarting the computer

      Any ideas?

Yeah but jd was meant to have his today, and now has to wait another 2 weeks. That blows.

edit: ooops...they gave me 14th may...and you 16th...my bad... please disregard this reply...or remove it...
