I don't think that would help though, unfortunately.

Frustrating, however I would have to agree.

      OK...

Just rang sky again...they say they have no dates prior to the 14th may, and this is the earliest time a BTO engineer can visit...they also say the contact number is there so the BTO engineer can visit the property involved...if the BTO engineer can get hold of you...then he would notify you that he is gonna disconnect your current internet line/broadband & re-connect to the fibre cabinet involved with my property, and go through all the setups involved with sky fibre...

If the BTO enginner CANNOT get hold of you...he is not allowed to disconnect your current line because he cannot get hold of you...he has to cancel the appointment...the conact number is there so the BTO engineer can find where your property is exactly...because he could not get hold of me...he had to cancel the appointment...oh well..

I will have to wait until 14th may...the BTO engineer will NOW ring my house phone number, instead of my mobile number...so it is a safer call...I can call him back if he rings in...but what if he rings under withheld number...ouch

I have been told this by the nice lady from sky...

I had the same issue as I posted about at http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/sky-b...tml#post370766

Don't let them fob you off with the 14th. Ask to speak to the persons manager as I have atleast got Sky to contact Openreach to resolve their screw. The CS will try and fob you off but keep demanding to speak to a manager and tell them if it's not installed in a reasonable time you will be cancelling all your sky services. Eventually you will get to speak to someone higher up and they should atleast try to get Openreach to work on resolving it.

      re: 1 more sleep...

Wow is all I can say. He rang from bridgend. Said he disconnect the Adsl and be round. True to his word 20mins later he appears. I point out the master socket and ask if I can have the modem installed on the ADSL plate in the other room. "nah sorry m8 not possible............ nah just kiddin'" bloody joker. 20mins later we're up and running

Nice guy, easy job for him I think.

Right where did I put all those billion floppy disks?

Edit: that works out at 4.5MB/s from usenet!!!!

Excellent. It is a real shame that a simple mis-communication of a telephone number has prevented jd having a successful install though.
