Well the BT man has been and gone for me,sync at 40,max attainable according to BT man is 99 :-) unfortunately I'm gonna have to see how good sky's technical team are, can't get a consistent download speed,it's up and down like a yo-yo and the fastest it'll go is 2MB/s!

I am gonna ring sky again in the next hour or so and get them to change my contact number again...they did send another confirmation of the new re-scheduled time...and they have got the incorrect number again...but the correct address...

i'll ring sky in the next 2/3 hours, theyre new schedule had to go pending...so could not change contact number...grrr

How should i go bonkers at sky...Its BTOs fault they got the address incorrect as with sky the address IS correct...

If you are interested, it is often easy to change the WiFi card but there are two sizes. You must ensure you know which size you have before ordering.

When I upgraded a friend's Athros Laptop (different model) I found some great instructions on the web that helped me to find the correct way to remove the cover underneath.
Thanks Scubbie, I'll look into upgrading the wireless card as I can't even get it to connect. I've updated the driver to the latest version but still no joy.

Is there another encryption type I could maybe try on the router which the card may be able to support? We have another machine here that uses a wireless dongle and I have a feeling that may also not support the encryption type.

Both unfortunately,I though it might of been my wiring but even taking the router and plugging straight into the modem gives the same results, and that's straight into the master socket,I'll maybe have to hack to bt modem later to see if it's keeping a log of any errors on the line

      No problem. Follow Laprion's advice.

Could I suggest that you start a new thread to discuss this further? This thread is busy with other topics.

This might be the best place to put it: Wireless / Adapters

Nothing to do with BTO - it is up to Sky to sort this out.
