      re: 1 more sleep...

      Serial lurker here ...sorry...

Just had my install done, was estimated 37Mb but have got 40 and the max the line can do is 53 according to the engineer.

I have a question though about which port the cable from the BTO modem to the Sky router should go in?. Currently its in the blue port but I remember reading that it should be in the first yellow one in from the power socket?. Any reason for this?

I'm new here so hi all.

Just want to wish you good luck with your installs i got let down at the last minute. Was meant to get installed today between 8am and 1pm but received call from fibre team at 3.06pm yesterday saying they couldn't provide it as there fibre equipment isn't even in my exchange. Goes to show there's more than Sky llu and svbn thats needed.

Oh well i'll have to stick with my 1.5m/bit connection for a while yet and hope to god when SKY finally get there bums into gear my cab won't be full as it's 500m away and the best on fibre i'll be looking at is 27mb

so much for pushing the people with low speeds onto faster connections.

For info prior to joining this forum I hadn't heard of the Master socket being put in the loft, but there are quite a few examples. I had previously heard of the Master socket being located in the Toilet or Kitchen though.

You should always update you M$ Windows software, device drivers and anything else related to connecting to the Internet.

The Sagem 2504N supports WPA2. Without checking dates, it is possible that this wasn't fully supported when you first got your Laptop.

Also, as a General Request to all who have now got SFU: Please do update your profiles and update (i.e. Edit) your post in the 'Who's Got fibre' thread.

      re: 1 more sleep...

BTO engineer has been and done his magic. Very happy. When we were chatting he said that he had lots more fibre install to do this afternoon. This morning he has been fixing faults in customers houses. So anyone who hasn't heard anything yet it looks like the engineers priority is to sort existing customers faults out before they move onto fibre installs.

Max speed coming through on his tester at 76/19!!
