Soon as I'm up and running I will be posting my stats. Hoping for a pleasant surprise.
You'll get the full 40/2 easily: I was quoted 34.8down, I get the full 40, with a max attainable of 54. The speeds that they estimate seem to fit into specific bands - so as they have quoted 35.3, one would assume a) you'll easily get the full 40, b) your max attainable is probably a little bit more than 54
:-)
it's possible that they are quoting 2/3 of your max attainable or 40 whichever is the lowest!

That's good to here. There's always a little bit of worry that my quote I got was the most I could achieve. I'm glad that it seems most will be getting exactly what their paying for

laprion you are going to love SFU going from less than .5Mb/s to 37Mb/s...just a tad of an increase.

Looking at the new connections today and everyone else that is connect we are all getting around the same speed 37.5Mb/s. sometimes on a good day and a good server my connection can hit 38Mb/s.

here is a speedtest I have just done to the Massey server in France which I find a good one

and here is a fluke one I did to london last week

also when posting speedtest if you:
a) wrap the link in image codes i.e or
b) once you have done a speedtest just above the link for it you will see 'forum' click this and copy the code

if you do either of this these the speedtest will show up as mine above and not as a link, my helpful tip of the day

I am concerned with the differences between low quotes and the much higher speeds achieved.

It has been mentioned that vDSL/FTTC is more susceptible to interference from neighbouring connections. This will increase as more people gradually migrate across to FTTC or FTTP too perhaps.

I suspect that the net result might be that your connection speeds will indeed drop and the estimates may look more more realistic.

In the mean time, enjoy it the speedy connections.

Don't forget too that BTO are looking to increase the speeds even more .
