My max would be 52 down & 20 up. Capped at 40 down & 2 up. Will not pay for an upgrade to 80/20 as very little benefit for the price, If they increase the up to 10 then would be happy.

my engineer turned up, who was a very nice guy, with a new faceplate and modem which took him about 10 mins to sort out.

he didn't have equipment to test my max attainable but said their would be little signal loss as i'm close to my cab ~420m by road, and surprisingly the fibre cab is nowhere near full but only has connections for 100 properties. i estimate around ~500 houses would go to that cab.

Do speed tests around the world. We've got family in Adelaide and I get a 350ms ping and 3.36mbps download on my broadband at the moment. Can't wait to try it tomorrow when my fibre's installed.
      With sky since 1997.

There was an incident recently which caused most of Australia to lose their access to the Internet. It was cause by a single cable getting disconnected.

This leaves me to believe that at present Australia gets most of it's access through just a handful of cables.

Whilst the initial link between your home and the Internet will improve significantly, once you leave UK shores, you are always going to use the same network systems whether you are on a 56K modem or FTTP.

grrr.. all you guys getting install done today.... just think of all of us who are having install done tommorow...I think we all envy you!

hmmm.. i now wondering if i could be 80mb capable now...considering the extra 10...idk about 40/10 tho...

Hmmmmmm...just day-dreaming...waiting for the BTO engineer to call tommorow morning..."hey, I am at the cabinet right now, fixing you up for sky fibre, it iwll be ready in the next 10 -30 mins, I'll be knocking on your door in 5-10mins!"

"Yiipeee!!" Time to buy some biscuits, and some tea bags I think...and fit my new router on right now! having gone back to old sky router...
