The other day one rather long bit of wire was just laying on my driveway which I assume was a neighbours connection to the house from the poll which came apart due to the result of the strong winds.

2 years ago the heavy wind and rain caused this to happen to me, my phone line still worked but was crackling bad and the internet wouldn't even stay stable for 30 seconds. I was with BT then for my phone rental so they came and replaced the wiring free of charge. I'm a little worried in case a repeat situation occurs within the next week, OK so it might be unlikely but its obviously happened to some neighbours of mine. If it was to happen would the BTO engineer have to replace the wiring?
Should this happen to yourself, you would call Sky now as you have Sky Talk.

They would then engage BTO who would be charged with repairing the connection.

Again you should not expect to be charged for this service as your line rental charge covers it.

This however should not be used as an excuse to start chopping telegraph poles down, just so you get all new wiring, and gain a better connection

      Absolutely!

The BTO Engineer might be suspicious of the clean cut wires....

Oh don't worry about that, I still struggle with chopping potatoes let alone telegraph wires!

I'm still awaiting my router to dispatch, but considering you guys are having it installed a day or two before I assume mine will be dispatched on Monday next week.

Does anyone know where to go on MySky to enter the Parcelforce tracking number as stated in the email?

You don't do it on the Sky website. You'll need to visit the Parcelforce site.
