It seems that most of those on the trial had their routers dispatched about 5 days before the installation date.

Sky are currently using the Royal Mail tracking service. There are at least two versions of the service and they have used both one that requires a signature and one that doesn't.

Well here the exchange upgrade is scheduled for June 2012 so it's anybodies guess what will be available then. Since I'm not interested in fibre just now I'm not overly troubled...

Does anyone know the deployment schedule for Sky to upgrade their equipment in the exchanges that are already available for fibre from BT Infinity etc?

I can't see sky making this information public, which is a shame.

They no longer publish the specific installation date for installing their LLU equipment as it is "commercially sensitive". I would expect them to say the same for Fibre being enabled too.

However Sky are busy updating their database on a regular basis. If you have FTTC and Sky's LLU equipment then I would suggest that you check on-line daily, and call Sky's call centres every so often, to see if you can order SBUF.

Re: The Official 'I Can't Get Sky Fibre Yet' thread

My exchange is supposed to go live at the end of June, so we might get fibre at the end of the year (if we are lucky). A friend who lives in Formby (LCFOM) cannot get fibre because it's only available in certain areas, even though the exchange has been enabled.

So it must be a case of have and have nots and when BTO install the cabs...

I would love a 2mb upload because I run a few websites and my upload speed is rubbish...

Re: The Official 'I Can't Get Sky Fibre Yet' thread

I have just done a quick Google search for a random property in Pontefract and punched in it's telephone number and post code in both the Sky & BT Infinity checker. It came up unable to get both SFU and BT Infinity.

Looking at the Openreach When & Where page, Pontefract certainly is FTTC enabled. So I guess the address I used (a pub in the town centre) isn't able to get Fibre at all.

If you punch in your home details, does it come up that you can get BT Infinity?

Yes I can get infinity, I have been able to since it was installed in 2010, but no sky fibre. We did ring and they said it's not available yet. I'll just have to wait until it is I suppose.
      Thanks Scubbie
