As far as I'm aware BT's isn't truly unlimited like Sky's is.

I'm very tempted to go down this route but i'm being put off by 2 things..

      1) Its BT
      2) Traffic shaping

I can't get Sky Fibre at the mo but i'm holding out.

Re: Just ordered with BT - price difference minimal

I know that it will be interesting in the coming months.

Sky's delay in getting their first Fibre product launched has cost them.

Whilst VM & BT can boast bigger headline speeds at the moment, Sky may prove to have the better infrastructure.

I guess that we shall all be watching closely

In the mean time, Sky hasn't actually stated the upload speeds on the current speed predictors. I will keep my eyes and ears open.

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms

Re: Just ordered with BT - price difference minimal

I dont think Sky have really decided yet what their speed will be after the shock that BT are doubling for same price, you could find that 2 or 3 month from now, or maybe even sooner, that Sky decide to make the upload 10mb or maybe even go 80/20 but those that ran off to BT for the extra speed will be locked into 18 month contracts.

Sky will be silly not to bring out 80Mb profiles as soon as possible

They have delayed releasing a Fibre based product for over two years since they first expressed an official interest. I guess they will continue to delay since that is what they are good at.

In the mean time the next standard for FTTC is being produced, FTTP will roll out across the country and Sky are still testing the old BTO products.
