You will struggle over the phone dealing with Sky Fiber because they havent finished training the staff and the Sky Fiber launch is only for online ordering till later in the month although sometiems you can get lucky and get through to someone who knows about Fiber

HaHaHa, the Mrs is watching 'Dont Get Done Get Dom' on the TV atm and its currently dealing with peoples complaints and horror stories dealing with BT, on about poor customer service and confusing contracts and T&C's etc, aparently they are trying to push to get people into 5 year contracts too

correction, it was a person on there that had been locked into a 5 yr contract even tho this wasent made clear and he thought it was a 2 yr contract, aparently Ofcom have banned 5 yr contracts as they deemed them excessive, contracts can now not be more than 2yr but this guy was stuck in a 5yr one till Dom got him out of it and BT reduced it to 2yr

another question is what does the bt openreach person actually do when he gets to your house does he put a new faceplate on the master socket or something?
also would the internet not just start working automatically when you plug in your new router?

Happy happy! Just got off the phone with the main man Kevin in Fibre department, very pleasent helpful Scottish bloke.

All ordered up and install on the morning of the 27th.

There are set up fees if your broadband is not currently with Sky BUT its pays to talk and not just order online ............

      Can't wait.....good bye 5mb snail speed hello 40mb

We also discussed the doubling of line speeds like BT, I dont think its going to be long

Re: Boom! Here we go - ordering now live

The BTO engineer will fit a new VDSL faceplate to your NTE5 master socket and install a BTO VDSL modem that will connect to the faceplate and needs a power socket, you then connect the Sky router to the BTO modem.
If you dont have an NTE5 master socket one will be fitted and if there is no power socket near the master socket they can relocate the master socket if this is viable or run a data extension cable from the master socket to a more convenient place to fit the modem.
The BTO engineer will also switch your line at the pcp cab to route to the new fiber cab where the VDSL equipment is.
