Up until 7.45 today the checker said my line couldn't have broadband or talk with sky. Then I ordered SBUF so it's very hit and miss. Just keep trying people.

Well. I've just got my MAC number from Sky.

Bye Bye Sky. Hello 55 / 20 from BT.

Do you actually need a MAC? Is your line still with BT or do you have phone and broadband with Sky? If you are full LLU and moving back to BT I though a MAC would be useless to them?

The upload speed is the star with BT. I've considered them myself but to be fair the sky offer was to good to miss really. It will suit my needs for now and will wait and see what sky has for the future. You will have to let us all no how you get on and see if your happy with it when your up and running.

Will do. At least your guaranteed 30MB with the 80/20 service. Having unto 55 will be a bonus.

The thing I'm more wary of is customer service. But quite honestly, I've had absolutely none from Sky since registering my interest. Even getting a MAC code requires talking to three different people and re-stating the same security details. None of the people however had even heard of the Fibre product.

So all in all, I can't envisage BT being any worse on the customer service side.

Install is on the 30th (BT).

      Re: Believe in better

Whilst we dont all like BT, they do offer a really good package. As Fibreman says the upload speed and a minimum of 30MB in peak time is great no matter how we dress it. But then you have to think BT have been offering fibre for a while now, if then cant attract or keep customers they something is wrong. For sky at the moment I think its about retention and improving on what their current offering is.

I am sure Sky wont be far behind, to be honest as much as I would like to see 80/20 on sky I think it would be irresponsible for them to launch it without first looking at how 40/2 or 40/10 effects their unlimited, un restricted network.

All good comes to those who wait

Well as long as my connection is big and bloated, that's fine, it can be as ugly as it wants.

Btw, I'm sure they'll come a day when I will want the 100mb service, or a 200 / 300 service. I just won't want to waist a year whilst Sky do their testing next time. Seems to me that Sky will always be one step behind.
