BT Double Fibre Speeds for Free

From tomorrow BT are doubling their 40/10 speed to 80/20 free of charge and increasing the 40/2 tariff to 40/10 FOC

New customers get the faster speeds as standard and existing customers need to renew their contracts.

Sky need to improve their offering and FAST.

Re: BT Double Fibre Speeds for Free

Damn you was just posting a topic:

"So, sky ready to launch their fibre tomorrow, at 50 install, 20pm, 40/2. BT have jumped in with 80/20 at free install, half price for first 3 months and 26pm.
I do hope sky have something up their sleeve cause their offering was already a bit of a tough sell against a 40/10 product.

I'm still holding out, i know what BT are like, and i know sky won't want to lose face against the competition. Hopefully they revise their product damn quick, no install fee and I would jump no problem."

This means, I think, that sky may have to give their customers the 10 mb upload, instead of the stupid 2mb upload, if thats what BT are doing...

Oddly enough bt say they aren't doing a free upgrade. Others are having to charge 15 quid a month to give this double speed

Sky aren't officially offering or announced anything yet. Maybe they are waiting until tomorrow for a reason!

Re: BT Double Fibre Speeds for Free

Maybe the triallists will have to stay on the 40/2 and we got the free install and router as a sweetner. The orders after today might get 40/10

This doesn't sound correct. BT will offer the 80MB service from tomorrow at the same price as the current 40 service. Existing customers will have the option to upgrade for free if they sign up to a new 12 month contract.

Quite honestly, Sky were always planning to wait and see what BT would do following the availability of the 80MB service from BT wholesale on the 10th. Why else would they have planned their launch on the 12th. - 2 days later.

I'm sure the Sky website people are busy making some last minute changes to include an 80 / 20 option.

If not, l'll be on BT's site tomorrow.

Maybe it's changed then in the last day. I wish my ISP did more upload they just seem hellbent on download. But 12mbps is enough for now
